My favourite 7/10 is lego marvel superheroes 2 i just love the map

I literraly thought that I would have been able to do an actual moon walk, like Niel Armstrong, in a vacuum with muffled sounds moving slowly, but it didn't feel like space, it felt like a Fallout 4 mod in space...until I modded it. At this point I will make my own games.

RPG’s are no longer “role playing games”. They’re just games where you play a defined role set by the game in their set way. But thank god, larian launched BG3 and showed these so called RPG games what an actually RPG is like. Also when i first played Starfield, i was well into the story. I knew almost everything about the terrormorph and how they’re born, why they’re born etc. etc. Unbeknownst to me i was travelling around on a vacation planet and voila, i found a terrormorph in a cave. This shouldn’t even be possible according to their own terrormorph lore. How can a planet filled with humans have terrormorphs in them, when the so called lore of the game wants me to annihilate these things cuz they make planets not livable for humans?? Pathetic lol.

I started playing bioshock say more than before 2020 but stopped playing it because it was too creppy for me and prefer exploring type game but then I upgraded my monitor and I guess the contrast is better in darker scenes & can NOT believe what a gem the story and the philosophical undertones of the game. I am actually glad I waited because I think the concepts would have gone over my head in middle school versus living & working in the actual reality and situation of the world.

Thanks for this great overview of the problems with RDR2. I tried it 5 years ago and just backed away after several hours for the reasons you described. I recently acquired an ultra wide monitor and thought I'd go back to experience the visual immersion in 21:9. Sadly, it's still the same tedious slog through the story in a linear way that left me wondering if it was really worth my time no matter how cool the visuals. You nailed it in terms of the poor game design that can't be fixed no matter how cinematic the game is.

Don't look at review scores - that's just an arbitrary number - look at how the reviewers actually *describe* the game/gameplay and decide for yourself whether that sounds like something you might enjoy. Different things appeal to different people; a reviewer might score a game 7/10 and then you actually read the review and discover they marked it down because of its "linear level design that restricts player choice" but you actually enjoy a linear game with fewer distractions from the main story so actually you might enjoy that game for the very reason the reviewer *didn't* enjoy it. Horizon: Zero Dawn and Fallout 4, both games that scored a 9/10 with most critics, both games that I played based off those review scores, and both games that I gave up on after a couple of hours or so because to me they felt bland and outdated and I honestly just got bored. Or what about The Last of Us Part 2, one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time, which I did complete and was very impressed with on a technical level but which is nowhere near a 10/10 experience overall for me (and the first TLOU game is my favourite game ever, so...🤷‍♂). Contrast that with Detroit: Become Human, a game that scored an average 7/10 and was pretty divisive among reviewers and players alike, but I researched a few different views on the actual gameplay experience, decided it could be my thing, and ended up having an extremely engrossing 10/10 experience that I absolutely loved! The review score isn't the review, just remember that folks.

They could have tried to pull a COD BO2 and make us feel great for kiling the main villain then show us why it was bad in a similar manner but they took away our choice and expected us to like it...
